The Cobalt SS Turbo is $22k+ but it does output 260hp.. Biggest downfall is its still FWD .. and it sure doesn't look as nice as a Genesis

It's going to be an STI vs EVO all over again, this time in a RWD car
there is a history there.... I had a Sonata with a Mitsubishi 3.0 engine

Blah its ok. Dont really like the interior much. Shiftknob reminds of the cheap tiburon one and the steering wheel doesnt look very sport. Seats are nice though. Everything exterior wise doesnt flow for me especially that rear quarter window. I guess for Hyundai its worth a try but Id rather have the MS3 anyday The 2.0T model would be the best bet for upgrades I think but yeah for the price... again the MS3.

I'm anxious to see what people start to do with them. Just looks like a lot of potential to build off of

all the things you named about the interior can be changed..aftermarket steering wheel, seats, ****, and so on. As for the exterior..I agree the front could use a lot of help but the rear is fine for me. Rear Wheel Drive pwns FWD any day unless its for drag then iono FWD can do the job just as well.

263hp MS3 (most basic) - 23,400 MSRP

263hp MS3 (GT model with all bells/whistles) - 25,100
306hp V6 genesis, stripped down - $25,000

V6 to match Mazda's features - 27,500

The MS3 falls between the two, depending on the package.

As I said, the problem with this car is it's competition. The MS3 is an amazing car, running mid/high 13's with IMPRESSIVE handling numbers.

The Genesis 2.0T just cannot compare.
The Genesis 3.8 V6 CAN compare, but to get the features to keep up, requires a few thousand more.

WRX's are Genesis V6 prices, but you get AWD.

I stand by what I said. In and of itself, it's a great car.... but the competition is VICIOUS... and it will need to go a long way in distinguishing why someone should pick the heaviest of the group from -hyundai-, and not Subaru or Mazda.

Thanks.

In no way am I trying to "rip on" the Genesis, since I'm actually a fan of what Hyundai's been doing... but when it's my money, I really got to think about the other options.

What Mazda is doing with the FWD MS3 is just bending everyone's concepts of the limits of FWD.

Subaru's 265hp WRX is probably one of the best deals going, but I really hope they fix their engine issues before it's my turn to potentially purchase.

I called a dealer today to see if they had any coupes. They had one which was a V6. I then asked how much was the car was. The lady told me it was $37000. I almost wanted to say are you serious lady. They had like 4 to 5 grand in markup on a Hyundai. Its a cool car but i could get a G37s for that money.

Wow.. what a rediculous markup .. That must have been for their top of the line with all of the bells and whistles.. but I would also get a G37 for that kind of money

Thats not the typical price though.. starting 3.8L v6 is $25k .. Dealers always add bells and whistles to the cars to jack the price up.. but if you tell them what you want specifically, they'll get that

I like what Hyundai has done with the Genesis coupe... I really do. And I am not one to go around complimenting random Korean automakers.

Thing is... that front end is AWFUL looking and will all but completely deter me from buying one. Would I take a test drive? Eh... maybe. I'd just have to find the right color to tone down that squished nose.

I can even live with the screwed up rear quarter window. The front... just... I don't know.
