Default I just saved almost 45% by switching to Geico

Saved almost 45% sorta. Compared to what I would have paid if i stayed on my parents policy.

I am a 24/m/NY (meaning higher insurance!!! which sucks) and I got my car back in August and stayed on my parents policy...which was going to cost me an insane amount. I just got the bill for the next 6 months and they wanted $1502!

I called Allstate up and asked for a policy on my own, with less coverage since I am not a home owner. They recommended getting 100,000/300,000 coverage and matched everything else from my old policy. They priced me out at $1234/6 months.

I called up Geico and got everything comparable. Got better Comprehensive coverage and it's going to cost me $847/6 months. If I take a defensive driving course it will come out to $777/6 months!

Thank you Geico for saving me $774/year from Allstate on my own policy.

I saved about 50% doing the same thing. Allstate, 4 years with them on a parent policy....doing the same spinoff method with LOWER limits of liability and such = $1600

Called Geico, and it's $970 with better limits of insurance.

If I didn't have an accident in '01, it would be about $690 for 6 months using their Geico 5-year good driver discount.

Yeah....

GEICO has that Mechanical Breakdown Insurance with a 7yr/100,000mile warrenty. for only $250 deductible.

So if you have the factory 3yr warrenty like me, your safe for 7yrs, and save sooo much money then buying the extended warrenty. If your car has under 15,000miles Id suggest this.

I was with Progressive about 2 years ago and I wanted to switch to Geico. I was paying about $900/6 months and called up Geico............$1,500/6 months and that was just for liability coverage!!! Man funk dat! Now I'm with AllState and spend $1,200/6 months but that includes my wife's car and my tC with full coverage.

Just be careful... GEICo has been known to drop folks for what other companies would overlook... If you have a radar detector, they say you are going to speed, so they can drop you like you're hot. Two speeding tickets, gone.... And if you have ever tried to get ins. after you have been dropped.....well, bend over.....

I am sure a lot of folks have nothing but good dealings with them, but just be careful.....

^^^ I'm sure you're right. Just because I had a DUI after sending my car around a pole causing my insurance company to pay out $14K for a leased car and then dropping me doesn't make me a bad driver. [/sarcasm]

Man, the only place I got a deal was esurance. Was a LOT cheaper than any place I tried including gieko. AAA/statefarm/bla bla all the "name brand" ones were just ridiculous. Almost as much as the car some times. 0 points, 25 (was 24 at the time), house, 3 cars, etc and can't even get an fn break.

i'm with expensive **** AAA and yet i can't find anyone else cheaper.

150 a month for full coverage and high limits with a 250 deductible so it's not that bad.

damn! My reason it was high w/ mos tplaces was cuz I was coming off my parents insurance. Esurance actually gave me my own polciy and was cheaper than AAA on my parents policy.
