Default Iphone or Blackberry Curve

alright - so its new phone time. Both I will have to add a data plan so no real differences there. I do have a mac. I'm only upgrading so the price on the phones is basically the same. Experiences? Stories?

I have the iPhone and been very happy with it. As far as features, the iPhone is lacking MMS, Voice-Dialing and IR capabilities. It also uses EDGE instead of 3g. I'm still running 1.0 firmware and refuse to upgrade to 1.1.0 or 1.1.2

I'd go with the Curve over the iPhone. The idea of a touchscreen as the only way to use the phone scares me. Too unreliable.

Exactly what I came in here to say.

I think the Ipod touch is neat because you have to be looking at an ipod to use it but a phone on the other hand is something you really need to memorize key posistions. I mean how many people here just feel out the keyboard for the numbers and dial without looking?

I've actually been debating between these two phones as well. So far I'm leaning more toward the iPhone. The Curve is really nice, but to tell you the truth, it doesn't have enough "eye candy" to keep me happy. The main menu screens are flashy and cool, but once you get one layer in to a sub menu, it all turns to lists of text on a plain background. It's like working in DOS. I'm sure the Curve is a great performing business phone. But if I'm going to invest that kind of money in a device, I want a serious "cool factor". Check it out for yourself. Play with a Curve for a while...you'll get bored.

I love my iPhone.

The lack of MMS is occasionally annoying, but not a huge deal.
Once you pickup typing on it, it's really quick. I'm way faster at entry on the iPhone than I was on any other phone.
EDGE kinda blows, but for the most part, it's still usable.
Having Google Maps is awesome. Type the place you're looking for and it'll call em up.

So far, I don't really have any significant complaints. Keep in mind that if you wanna use different headphones with it, you'll need an adapter (the headphone jack is recessed).

Call clarity is top notch. The speakerphone is kinda weak, but that will likely be addressed in a software update.

I originally had mine unlocked, but when the 1.1.1 scare came up, I reverted mine. I'm back to stock, but Apple is promising 3rd party apps by February.

All in all, I'm quite happy with mine.
