are you asking if it works with the ipod cord?
If you are, it doesn't. The iphone has a different, shorter, port in the bottom. I had to get an AUX cable, and a belkin ipod headphone adapter because the aux cable doesnt fit otherwise. Using it with the aux cable does not allow you to use the steering wheel controls tho..

The iPhone has the same dock connector as the iPod. I actually use an iPod charger when it's not plugged into the computer.
As for jailbreaking: http://www.ziphone.org
You'll never look back (at least until June, maybe).

Mur: I have the 08 xB. I posted this in itially in the 2nd gen lounge...but it got moved.
I would assume that economically speaking it would be fiarly stupid of apple to make a lot of different sized connector...but then agian companies aren't always very smart...
I am still not sure I am keeping the iPhone though...there are so many restrictions on it....extremly annoying.

The phone connector is the same as the iPod connector, however, the pinout changed slightly, which means that certain headunits will not recognize the iPhone... I haven't tried mine, but I seem to remember my Alpine saying 'iPhone Ready'.
