Would it ____ you off if:

1. One of your good friends wants the same car as you, in the same color, knowing you got it a month ago.

&

2. Not only wants the exact same car, but has plans to do EVERY MOD you have, from spoiler to trim rings, everything.

I guess it agitates me because Im doing these things to my car in my area to stand out and be original. I know if he ends up doing it he's going to tell everyone all the mods were his idea, making me look like an idiot when really Im the one with the fxcking style. FXCK OFF AND DO YOUR OWN THING!

I've seen that done in regards to someone modding their car for shows after mine... which was just cheasy... but, my best friend nick and I both had tCs with 19 inch unknowns and found ways to make them unique....

Just do mods he cant... that's the best way to go if you have someone trying to match you mod for mod.

If he got a different color I would say go for any mod you want, but I don't want his ____ looking exactly like mine!

I also am not telling him where I got ANYTHING.

 

dont buy cheap stuff, invest in the good stuff and that should give you an extra advantage unless your friend is filthy rich

 

I mean if he picked up a tC w/ a diff. color then it wuldn;t be all tht bad. Alot of ppl on here have similar mods cuz are options are limited (CAI's, exhaust systems,headers . . . ).

But if would get a different color and not copy you to the exact mods it wuld be chiill, kinda cool even.

My roomie picked up a cbr 600 few months ago and now I'm taking my motorcycle lic. test next week and am picking up a gsx-R 600 and he was really cool wit it. Given its not the same bike , but u get the idea.

Maybe convince him to get a different color and stuff or sometin by telling him ur color sux haha

Dude...far from cool. Maybe if my girlferiend did it. Hell if my girlfriend did it Id probably be modding her car with the same stuff I have.

Im hoping when he goes to trade in his POS mazda protege (it's a 2001 with a ____ed up interior, exterior, and 50,000 miles on it) that they will reject him because it isn't worth anything. He's trying to tell me it's worth 5600. I really doubt that since he has ants in his interior and he smokes constantly.

yeah, it's kinda lame, but having someone copy your car just says that your car is badass :D

I mod my car to make it stand out in a crowd, not to establish a line of clones.

 

Sad thing is that there's too many Scions out there right now that it's really hard to keep yours unique. Just keep your mouth shut to your friend about what you get done, or even lie to him about some of the parts you get. Sad it would have to come to that though.

 

It's not bad that he wants the same car and color, but the same exact mods too? Maybe you can show him some other styles that have been done to get his mind away from yours. Or, you can just tell him flat-out that you made your car to your tastes, to be original.

Or, if all else fails, you could do something hideous and outrageous to your car so he'd stop imitating you. That's lose-lose, though.

 

you'll be alright, even if he does copy off of you, there is always something that you can do to mod yours that he wont be able to do... hell, just do a 2tone to yours with that spraypaint that is supposed to be washable, take a pic of it, and let him copy it, then wash yours off, 2 different toasters now

Ive actually told him: "I just don't see why you would want to. Make your car, YOUR car, not a clone of mine."

It just doesn't phase him.

Some days it bothers the heck out of me, other day's I think to myself he's all talk and has to pay off his outrageous credit card bill's if he ever wants to get any mod's at all anyway.

Sell him yours...and go get another one and do it all differently.

I was thinking something along the same lines....sell him all of your mods. Say you can get a good price on all the same mods as you, slightly used. Then, use the money you get to go a different direction with your car.

 

tell him you are selling it/trading it in for another car. wait till he trades his in then tell him you were just kidding or you decided against it.
