idk, something that would like update me as to its whereabouts or something like that. like it could send me an email like every day as to where it is. or it would send out an email if it exits a certain area. i dont know whats whats out there.
im just trying to get together ideas on how to keep my laptop from walking away!
i AM going to put on a very hard to remove skin on it, so i can always spot it if someone goes to use it. but thats not going to help that much.

Lojack also has a service for laptops I dunno how they do it, i think it sends them a message over the internet when you report it stolen or something like that, check their website tho http://www.lojackforlaptops.com/ 1yr of service $49
this is from their website, hope it helps
Computrace LoJack for Laptops runs on both PCs and Macs, here’s how it works:
* You download and install Computrace LoJack for Laptops software – it’s easy and secure. No hardware required.
* Your computer silently and securely contacts our Monitoring Center when connected to the Internet.
* You rest assured knowing your computer is protected.
If your computer is ever stolen…
* You file a police report and notify our Recovery Team.
* When your stolen computer contacts our Monitoring Center, it is placed on high-alert and starts calling us every 15 minutes, allowing our Recovery Team to closely track your computer’s location.
* Our Recovery Team provides law enforcement with tracking information and documentation essential for procuring search warrants and leading them to the location of your computer.
* The police recover your computer and return it to you!

Could maybe install logmein.com software and you could log in to your laptop from anywhere. Works great and it's free with no strings attached. Lot of IT pple use it. After that you could check your public ip and could determine who is servicing the network by that method. Just a suggestion
