I still have Ultima: Exodus for NES. I've kept all my old school systems and games for when I have kids. Hopefully they can enjoy the classics.
1) The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time
2) Phantasy Star Online (Dreamcast / Gamecube)
3) Gran Turismo 3
4) Command & Conquer: Red Alert
5) 007: Goldeneye
I guess I'm a little biased, most of these titles came out in my college years where there was an entire household of gamers. The multiplayer aspects really added to the enjoyment of the games (except for Zelda, but seeing it in an open, 3D world for the first time was just awe inspiring).
I also picked these games because the either epitomized the genre / series or were ground breaking as 007 was for FPS on consoles. Of the current gen, I can't say I find the same level of excitement, maybe it's just me growing up finally. WoW was the only game recently that really drew me in, but the end game skewed the time vs. reward too much and I lost interest (law of diminishing returns). Maybe when the full version of Gran Turismo 5 comes out I'll finally pick up a PS3. I've been missing out on team Fortress 2 and refuse to load Spore on a PC due to the invasive copy protection dial home scheme.
