I'm a pretty messed up individual. I thought one part of the story was funny as hell. Only in Canada would they say that the passengers and driver displayed "brave" behavior by running like hell from the guy with the knife while a guy is getting stabbed and decapitated and then returning only to run from him again and hide behind the bus door.

Hey, It isn't like they're from Fargo, don't ya know.

This is freaky.. even more so since it happened less than 45 min. from me. :S

But, then again, takin' the bus cross country was bound to take its toll on someone...

The comments about Canadians are unnecessary. You get crazy people in all countries and cultures. Canada has about one-tenth the population of the US, so that means they have approximately one-tenth the number of crazy people too, but they still have some crazies just like any other country.

My point was that the Canadians were referred to as brave even though essentially all they did was run away, cower in fear and wait until the guy was done killing and decapitating that young man and then peeked inside and ran away again. You know... the opposite of bravery.

I was more addressing the "when did Canada become so violent?" comment, but the same thing applies here. Any reference to Canada is irrelevant when this crime was obviously caused by the screwed up mind of one individual. The way people acted and reacted has nothing to do with their nationality.

I also wouldn't say that "only in Canada" would these people be hailed as brave. Anyone who heads towards a knife-wielding maniac who just committed murder is extremely brave, regardless of whether they succeeded in disarming and restraining the guy or not. I doubt any American would show more bravery in a situation like that.

And no, I'm not Canadian. Yes, I am an American.

That's not true. They didn't try to restrain him or disarm him. They went in to see what was happening. When he came after them they all bolted. That's not bravery. If they were brave that kid never would have been decapitated. Maybe Americans wouldn't show more bravery than that, but I like to hope that they would. Bravery is the opposite of running.

^yeah but that's for a reason, this was out of nowhere, at least that's what they tell us...I think the worse one I saw was a guy getting his throat slit while he was alive by a Russian soldier stepping on his head, it was a super close up video...but that didn't bother me as much as the ***** mutilation video, now that's some effed up sh*t!!!

This is exactly why I have my concealed pistol license...
