Just curious if MARVEL MYSTERY OIL is any good. The package says it can be poured into crank case and gas tank. Product claims to give ultimate engine protection - extend engine life - improve motor oil performance and clean lubricates entire fuel system. Can all this be true?

I know a few people who have sworn by the stuff... i've added it to both gas/oil in my last car.... couldnt say i noticed a difference one way or the other tho...

at first there may be that 'wanna believe symptom' of .. hey.. my car does sound like its running smoother/better whatever.. and you trick yourself to 'feeling' differences

but dunno if its true

 

I swear I've heard of this stuff before... I'm pretty sure it's also used to re-oil R/C car air filters.

 

I personally wouldn't trust something called marvel mystery oil, but I haven't heard of it before.

 

Its been around since 1928 - so it has to be decent

 

i work at a hardware store, and all the old people swear by it. we had a tiller that we could not get to crank, put some in the gas and some in the oil, and no sh*t it fired right up

 

It is a good, high quality, penetrating oil that contains some good solvents. I wouldn't use it in MY Scion, although some of my old cars got it on occasion.

It cleans the upper cylinders and lubricates them. Good stuff been using it for parents and my cars.

 

why do you think they call it marvel mystery oil???

you marvel about it and its some sort of mystery on how and why it works

and oh ya its an oil product too

 

I use this stuff all the time in my first gen RX-7's. Most first gen guys swear by this stuff. I usually pour some into my gas tank whenever I fill up to help keep the rotors spinning. I would never use it in my Scion though.
