Default A minor change in moderation

We have made some minor changes to our moderation system in preparation for moving to the new forum software in the near future. The changes will affect less than one half of one percent of ScionLife.com Members.

Here is the way we moderate now when someone breaks the rules:

Really minor stuff we just fix up and don't even comment about. If it looks like a simple error, especially with a relative n00b, we drop them a PM and mention that there is a rule they may not be familiar with, blah, blah, blah, etc.

If it's a little more serious, we "Caution" them - it's still not a warning, but they are put on notice that next time it will be.

For things there just are no excuse for, we give 'em a Warning - it's official, it's on record, and they could get banned if they don't straighten up.

Lastly there are those who can't or won't learn - they get banned, permanently.

We will now be adding a little more attention getting activity to the warnings...

When a person is warned they may also be temporarily banned for a period of between 2 and 30 days. They will receive email notification of the temporary ban.

During this temporary ban the member will be unable to access their account on ScionLife.com, but they will be able to read posts.

The more warnings and the more serious the warnings the longer the temporary ban will be.
