I just read through most of the old "Mormon" thread, and a lot was said in it.
One particular thing at the end of the thread before it was shut down was specifically singling someone out to go to hell.
I feel ashamed that someone would actually say that to anyone. I think its safe to say that all Christian faiths believe that the act of condeming a person to hell is a great abomination in the site of God, the only master in control of condeming one to hell.
I think that if anyone took this as an opinion from the LDS church as a whole than they are being over critical. It was simply an opinion from one man, nothing more, and it was a stupid thing to say.
He was obviously mad that so many people were saying things that might have angered him, things about his religion. It was a rash thing to say, and obviously fueld by anger he spoke without thinking.
Please dont judge the LDS religion over a single persons character, otherwise you'll only be as big of an idiot as he was. Sorry he was stupid, and said that. I must state that I dont know him, and have never met him, I just feel if it hasnt already been cleared up, than I'll do it for him.

Because I did not get to post in the topic before it was closed I wanted to take the liberty of opening a new one. A topic open for discusion of all religion, no bible bashing, just discusion. If you have any questions about the LDS religion or just want to talk freely of your own personal beliefs in a particular religion than please do so.
This topic is open for anything good in religion basically. Want to tell people what religion you are, than do so, want to tell people what your looking for in a religion, than do so.
If a thread like this is already in motion, than please direct me too it because I would love to join a topic such as this one. And if the mods close this, than I will take a hint and not pursue the subject.

I'll start off.
I am a "Mormon" the commonly used slang for Latter Day Saint Members, so commonly used even we use it.
I've always been a mormon, and always will be one. I love my church, and I believe in all of it, although I find at times it is hard to follow some of the expectations and commandments. I'm not perfect, I'm as much a man as the next is. Being mormon does not exempt me from sin.

On a side note, please dont "Quote" comments that are reduculously huge, it takes up so much space, its just gets messy.

Another side note, I think most of the LDS members did a pretty good job explaining things about our religion, good job guys. I was impressed with a lot of those comments, some on the other hand were not so good.

 

These threads have been tried and unfortunately, failed miserably on both fronts...

Those of us capable of such a discussion on theological grounds have decided to not bring up those topics on scionlife... as it's just not the envirnment that really works for that detailed of a discussion.

Most of my posts regarding the LDS faith were a good 4 pages by themselves... and unfortunatly, didn't get any real answers to the questions exposed...

It's way too easy to quickly respond to questions and arguements with small unthought statements and circular reasoning... so... for the sake of all faiths... I obstain.

 

Organized religions are cultish. I do like them in our society though because they promote good values. Mormons are no exception. But some of their ideals seem a little wack. Whatever though it's your life, as long as you dont come down knocking on my door and forcing me to join its all good.

 

I thought from the title that the Mormons were appologizing to those they offended.
