My girlfriend got me in USAA because her grandfather served. Not sure what he was though. We have been living together for almost 5 years or so, so we have some sort of married by law thing or something of the like.
I am paying like 108/month which is pretty bad compared to most but it's great for me. When I had Mercury insurance it was like 345/month. Thats with one speeding ticket.
I'm 21... I was told when I turn 23 it lowers substantially again, then once more at 25.

I never understood the whole married by law thing but i'm curious if that means shes entitled to half of my "assets" should we break up like a normal divorcing couple?
RCZDesigns, from what I understand with "common law marriages" is that if you live with a person long enough, techniquely by law you become married to them. 11 states have common law marriages, and there's no such thing has a common law divorce. which just means you have to have a regular legal divorce in order to legally seperate from your now spouse. something to that affect.
I looked it up and Massachusetts and Arizona aren't part of the 11 states who recognize it. That means I have to move to one of the 11 that do, live together etc in order for that to be in effect.
I guess USAA doesn't care though. As long as if we do separate she doesn't have me by the berry's i'm cool.

u guys are all lucky i have to pay 1800 for 6 months 450 a month for 4 months. NYC is the worst when it comes to this but also my driving record and my mothers driving record arent great per say. has any1 heard of hartford insurance?
300/month isn't terrible. I've seen and have myself paid more.
I'm surprised though, when I turned 21 even with Mercury it went down to like 220 or something like that. On my birthday my insurance guy called me and said the company was cutting 130 off my insurance monthly. :D
