Here is a post from a myspace bulletin that has been going around. DON'T BUY ANY GAS ON MAY 15th and watch the prices drop.... Spread the word, post this everywhere. Let everyone know. We as the people of the United States have to stop this BS. Every summer gas goes up. This is illegal but nothing can be done because big oil runs this country and big oil is sitting in the presidential seat... Spread the word. Repost this on different forums, post the message in your sig. Do what you have to. Here's the post from myspace...



"In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices.
Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On May 15th 2007, all myspace members are asked to not go to a gas station in protest of
high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.

There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the myspace network, and the
average car takes about 20 to 30 dollars to fill up.

If all myspace members did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take
$2,200,000,000.00 (that's BILLION) out of the oil companys pockets for just one day,
so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the
Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.

i've been boycotting gas stations for a good 2.5 weeks now that is until i need to buy gas again this friday

 

not this crap again..... it has never worked the last few thousand times it's been tried and done.

 

yeah, because they've been so effective all the other times.....

 

everyone would just buy the gas the day before or the day after. if everyone on myspace would not use any gas at all for just one day that would make a financial impact for the gas companies but not very many people care enough to make a sacrifice like that.

 

gas companies are gonna get your money sooner or later...
no matter what you try.. unless you give up on driving all together... it's not gonna work.

this type of "boycotting" messages are nothing more than the work of someone really bored and want to pass around chain letters or messages... how ever you want to call it. i've seen it countless times.

first it's boycotting a certain brand.. other times, all gas in general... i live in the very area where it's most expensive in the nation... yet i haven't seen jack as far as any of these things ever working every single time i've seen it tried. and yea.. i don't buy gas all that very often anymore anyway...

so if you want to boycott just a certain day.... gas companies are just gonna gouge that money from you another day... why even fight it?

like i said... either don't drive anymore... or don't even try.

hell... i'd be even happier living in the state of Hawaii with thier gas prices.. people think just because they're an island means they have the highest? yea... right.

Its like yo-yo dieting. Unless you can change your personal driving habits PERMANENTLY this is not going to have any effect on the oil companies.

This topic will inevitably turn into a flame war so I am going to nip it in the bud right now.
