Need a good cold medicine
So... have a nagging cold here. Bad cough... runny nose... congestion. So far:
Tylenol Cold
Day or NyQuil
Robitussin
Haven't helped. Anyone have a recommendation for some good stuff? I realize that both Tylenol and the `Quils have acetometaphin in them, so they are similar. Hopefully someone can recommend something as I need something quick.
Thanks!

i have tried those too and they do not work for me but what did work and work realy well was, alka seltzer cold, that stuff is the bomb lol.but realy it works realy good.
My g/f sware by a couple shots of Rock & Rye(sp), and getting wrapped in about a million blankets and sweating it out.
I just go to the doctor. Some of that newer script stuff works to well to mess with the over the counter crap.

Danny, I'm just getting over a cold right now too. You're pretty much gonna have to ride it out with plenty of liquids, but you can try to ease your symptoms as much as possible...
I always get a BAD cough with every cold that last for weeks sometimes. I tried something different this time and it seems to really be working...allergy medicine!
I think anything with Sudafed would work, but I tried "Claritin-D" for allergy and cough. My congestion and cough was way better than usual, and after 5 days it's almost completely gone! It's kinda expensive $10 for 10 pills but you only take 1 every 12 hours....if you're desperate it might be worth a shot.
I'm no doctor though, so just double-check w/ your pharmacist for any questions... ;)

I like Alka Seltzer's cold and flu tablets, the ones that dissolve in water and make a nice fizzy lemon-lime drink, kind of like slightly salty Sprite. Always does the trick for me and it works quickly.

Jameson Irish Mixed with you favorite Hot Tea, right before bed. I was never a believer in the whole whiskey for a cold thing untill I tried this mix that was recommended to me by my gf's mom.
It won't cure the cold but you will sleep like a baby & be able to breath easy while doing so.
Sleep is the best thing for a cold, its getting to sleep with the cold that is the problem. Not with this mix
Good luck, I hate colds !!!!

Airborne. This stuff needs to be taken in the beginning of a cold, but I've noticed it helps even after the fact. I used it for my sickness just two weeks ago and I'm fine now. Nyquil or that stuff won't work, they took out the main ingredient a few years back which druggies made crystal meth with if I remember correctly, so now vicks nyquil/dayquil is useless. Whenever I get sick, I get zythromax, its prescription, but for non prescription, just drink lots of vitamin C, stay away from dairy, rub vicks vapor rub on your chest and drink green tea. I usually do the above while taking that airbone medicine and along with advil. It always works when I don't have insurance =\

The overly excessive amounts of many of the vitamins can lead to side effects that vary based on WHAT YOU OVERDOSED ON.
They were serious too... Some of the stuff like Potassium and Zinc etc can be very dangerous OR FATAL if you consume too much.
Stick to a basic multivitamin if you want to go THAT route
