need medical bill advice
Hello, I need some advice for my mother's medical bill.
She started to go to a Pain Specialist 8 years ago. Stop going for in 2006 and 2007.
Now she is stuck with a 3000 dollar bill for 2 visits in 2008.
Insurance company told me because the doctor is no longer with in the Network.
My main question is "Was the doctor suppose to let us know that he no long accept my insurance before the procedures?"

normaly they ask for your insurance info as soon as you get there and give it back to you after they get the info they need. i would assume they could of told her "hey we dont accept your insurance anymore" before they saw her.
I doubt it's their responsibility to tell you, doctors offices suck like that.
I don't know if this will be much help, but about two years ago I broke my collar bone in Mexico on my quad and paid 300 bucks to be seen in mexico, thats a drug drip of some sort, somas, an xbrace for my collar bone AND they reset the bones. Awesome price.
I go back home and get two xrays at the hospital and get a bill for almost 2 grand? I just never paid, eventually they sent it to collections for the amount of like $385 or something, which I paid.

wow, from 2 grand reduce to $385, that is great.
i remember back in 2005, the office usually send Pre-certification to insurance company before expensive procedure.
i am going to fight that bill. There is no way the office would treat any one that just walk in without proper insurance.

Yea I was kind of happy about it, lol. Still didn't want to pay almost 400bills for two damn xrays (when in mexico, I got like 6? and they gave me an envelope to put them in!) with all my other treatment for less money.
But I hope you work it out with the place, just raise a little bit of h e double hockey sticks, they will start to adjust their attitude

my mom is furious at that doctor.
Those facet joint injections didn't help her arthritis pain.
and a $3000 bill, that they didn't send Pre-certification to insurance company for the procedure.
I am going to call the office to let them it is their fault.
