i do valet parking so i test drove a fair amount of cars...
imo with a budget of 30k,
i suggest a bmw 3 or 5 series
or lexus such as the IS or something...

but like the others said... i also like the GTI

and the car i really want ... 350z/s2000

btw, lowest depreciation for a car = mini cooper and next is s2000.

350Z or wait for the 08 xB (which comes out really soon!) and then pimp the heck out of it!

lowest depreciation for a car is actually:
prius
mini
xB

and really it should be the 2004 vw r32, go try and find a used one.
anyone with less than 50k miles is like 28k. still. they were 32 new.

man i'd love to have one.

and i'd say the 350z myself, but then i sat in one.
I'm 6'4" and it's crazy cramped, and that hideously huge interior door panel makes me gag. Exterior wise, I think it's the most beautiful thing on the road, though.

and go ask someone who owns a super bottom of the line bmw, if it's worth the 33k ,when they could have gotten alot of top of the line cars for that price. a guy here at my work did just that, got a 2 year old 320CI. after 2 months, he's wanting to trade it in for a fit or even xB, but dealers are out.
o and the funnest part of bmw's? $600+ oil changes.

FJ CRUISER! And yes I was yelling! That is the sickest car ever! I wish I had $30k... who cares about gas prices when you're driving something that looks that good? I don't!

My older sis is about to get the A3 in that charcoal grey I think it's very catchy and elegant at the same time!

The small IS could be considered luxury right?

btw Check this thread out look who I thank

im a big audi fan, but i'd get a top of the line, near every option, gti rather than the bottom of the line a3 (the I4turbo). you'd miss allwheel drive, but the interiors are near identical at base. The extra cost of the v6 isn't worth it and at that price point, get the upcoming r32. I'm on the waiting list from my dealer for the little woman. If you have more than 30k yes get the audi.

Wow, that sucks...and to think I was complaning about 2.70 for 93 octane yesterday

But I think with that Budget heres what I would prolly get

Sedan = the ne G35 6MT Which I am really looking into maybe getting soon.
Truck = Maybe a fully loaded 4wd Tacoma or a Tundra Crew Max SR5
Sports Car = Nothing on the market is really appealing to me now, Maybe a 350 or G coupe
SUV= 4 Runner or a Fj
Compact = Any Scion, MS3, or even a Si or Fit

If you want to keep it in the family, I'd go with an IS.
The Audi is really nice too.
