Default New Toy for the woods

So I got bored one day and was searching craigslist. I came up with a $500 working and driveable 4X4 1990 GMC 4.3 5 speed. Awesome price for a good runner. I saw pictures and picked it up right after.

It goes alright in the woods. Compared to the ranger, its about the same. The Ford Festiva went a little better though.

The GMC has a nice little custom flatbed that I found out to be too long for some of my old Jeep trails. So I hacked a little off. 20 inches to be exact which may not seem a lot but when you are in the woods its a GREAT deal of body length. Enjoy my pictures. The first picture is a before with long bed, then during the process of shortening and then after. Not only did I remove 20 inches, but also about 350 lbs of bumper, and now have better clearance in the rear.... hehe in the rear.

If that 4.3 is TBI, which I know the S-10's were in '89, you'll get bored of that truck before something major goes wrong with it.
