if you can could go faster than the speed of light you would essentially be time traveling.

Riddle me this:

If you were in a spaceship racing a beam of light, and you were moving at ninety-nine percent the speed of light, how much faster would the light be?

FYI - 1% is not the correct answer.

What if two rocket ships were racing the light beam and one was ninety-nine percent as fast as light and the other was fifty percent as fast? Can the light be faster than both of them by exactly the speed of light?

When hydrogen peroxide bubbles, it isn't really working. (Woo hoo for microbiology classes!!! It's because of the catalase enzyme, fyi.). If it does bubble, use alcohol.

There is no such thing as a brontosaurus.

Pickle juice cannot grow a live culture of bacteria. So go ahead and stick your hand in the pickle jar!

Yes??? BUT, I dunno. If yes, can you tell me why? If not, I'll just go ask my electricity and optics prof, hahaha.

Heres where it gets really abstract......

Time and motion and the speed of light are different for all observers. We dont notice it in daily life because the difference is very slight for slow-moving objects. But as you approach the speed of light, the differences become evident.

It is literally true that no two people share the same reality.

I would like to hear what your prof. thinks as well as yourself.

Well, just because you mentioned time, that is a totally human concept and as such, it definitely varies from person to person, similar to how a minute on a roller coaster would "seem" much shorter than a minute spent in solitary confinement though they are technically the same amount of time. I would also assume the same thing about motion and the speed of light. So, if at 99% of the speed of light, the light is still the speed of light faster, then I guess if it is all perception, then yes, it can be the speed of light faster at both 50% and 99%. And also, how is it possible to even be able to grasp the speed of light, if in fact you are moving at even a fraction of that speed. What is it? 3X10^8 m/s? Right? Ridiculous. I guess I don't have to worry about it though since we will never be able to go that fast, hahahaha! Well ... not very soon at least, hahaha.
