...and it just blew sh-t out of the water. Good G-d, the world is ending.

It outperforms the 8800GTS easily, and nearly matches the GTX in some tests. At $230. For those who aren't aware, we're talking about HUNDREDS of dollars cheaper. It's a single card-slot design, which helps save some space from the overbearing GTS/GTX/Ultra cards; the downside to this is that the hot air isn't directed out of the case anymore, like those older dual-slot models. Here's a couple of pics:

...I just can't get over this surprise. I mean, sh-t, look at this benchmark in Crysis (demo was released Saturday):

Sorry, yeah, I am a geek. But GOOD G-D.[/img]

they're just shy.

I've kinda gotten out of the PC world myself. I used to keep up with these things, up to 1-2 yrs ago. We ordered my fiancees new PC and I was amazed how far we'd come ... wow ...

she ordered an XPS w/ the 8800 GTX .... so she can play sims2

meanwhile my poor forgotten dekstop is still rocking a 5600. It'd night and day, like whoa

If this thing is almost on par with the 8800 GTX, thats huge, especially being a single slot card, and clearly a big bang for the buck

I'm running 2 of the 8800GT Superclocked Editions on my gaming rig, with 8 gig RAM. 1 of these cards is great, but 2 is just amazing. They really did a good job with the newer 8800 GT's.
