the funniest one i ever heard of... trying to get out of jury duty was...
defense attorney: the victim of the alleged crime was white... the defendant is african american... would this make you biased?
juror: no
defense attorney: do you have any preconceived notions or problems with A.Amer.?
juror: no
D.A. : do you like them?
juror: they look nice on trees.

Hehe..yeah, but it's non-specific. It could be talking about anyone. Maybe I'll just wear one that says, "GUILTY!!"

To tell you the truth, other than the hassle of having to drive over an hour away (in heavy traffic), I'm not that worried about trying to get out of it. Depending on the case, it could be interesting. The court pays a pathetic $40 a day but my employer will make up the balance of what I earn each day with no loss of personal time off. So I'll make the same money and not have to use any vacation time. Who knows; I might enjoy it. Maybe it will be some big mob kingpin and I'll have to get put into the witness relocation program. I choose Hawaii. Crap...probably shouldn't have told you that.

yo man that blows. at least u weren't like me, was called for federal jury duty at 18 and was delayed untill I was 19 when I was on my summer break from school. luckily I was just on standby and didn't have to go in but still I was megga ____ed off. What still puzzles me is why the hell me? So many of my friends have yet to even be put on standby for local court but to be put on standby for federal court for my first time, the rage I had makes me hate the government even more.
