Out of the TVs you've posted for the comparison, I would go for the Samsung LCD.

Really, there's nothing wrong with plasma. There isn't anything wrong with LCD either. But, each has specific advantages that would apply to certain situations.

Plasma's advantage is bang for buck... meaning, if you're spending $2,000 - $3,000... you can get an EPIC television. When LCDs are the same price for same size, plasmas lose that key advantage.

Plasmas are definitely brighter in low-light rooms with amazing contrast... but their shiney, reflective screens means greatly increased glare in a brighter room.

LCDS - don't have the glare issue due to the flat, absorptive screens. They're also catching up in terms of contrast and whatnot. So for my brighter room, I got an LCD.

What it comes down to in the end though, is just buy a TV that has a menu system you like, the specs you want, and a nameplate that you're used to and can trust.

I love my Samsung.

I have that Samsung and it's amazing, possibly one of the best TVs for the money.

Also, if you plan to use this TV for your PS3, avoid the plasma. Plasma's are terrible for gaming because of the possible screen burn. I use that Samsung for my PS3 and it looks amazing for HDTV and BluRay.

Make sure you shop around though, I'm sure you'll be able to find that Samsung on sale for $900.

I'm actually going to be picking up this one for my bedroom/360.

It's only $800 at some other places, so I'm expecting it to go on sale for Xmas. I've always been a fan of LG, and the thing that sold me on this one is the Optical Audio Output, which means I can use my 360 and cable TV with my surround sound. Right now I'm limited to one or the other .
