Default PC versus MAC

PC versus MAC.

Personally I started on an apple IIe, then IIgs, then my dad got the first 40mb Mac. He was a Mac freak, and until windows 3.1, so was I, because of games.

Now I got the last dual motorola chip g5, and a 1ghz/512 pc on my desk at work. I use the $200 dollar pc way more than i do the g5(which was a cheap buy from a graphic designer).

mhz versus mhz, yeah the mac would win, but you have to pay 2-3x more for the mac, and if you build pcs like i do, it's more like 4x+. Never worth it.

and if you're on a pc network, like every company is, the latency is rediculous compared. graphic drivers, software, the mouse!, and Mac's finder and sherlock suck.

Dunno..I never used a Mac.
But if you'd like to send me a new one to evaluate, I'll be happy to help.

I'm dualbooted with XP and Ubuntu 6.10. Only reason I haven't trashed windows altogether is because I haven't fully figured out the filesharing through the network on linux yet. That and there's only a handful of games that'll work for linux so far. I use linux for everything else though (browsing, chatting, downloading, spreadsheets, word processing, ipod & mp3's, movie viewing and editing, photo editing, etc). Opensource FTW!
I'll refrain from the mac flamethrower, for now...

macs are wonderful items, and as long as you dont play games your cool. they are reliable, unique and vertually problem free.

i think the myth of macs being problem free, went away with os8. I crash my mac everyday working on a network, mainly with adobe's CS2 (i just it for indesign/pshop).

If you get to work and have to open anything by Macromedia or Adobe and nothing else, then get a Mac.

If you like to do things besides editting graphics, get a PC. And you can still do graphics on a PC.

I've only used a Mac when I was in high school so I don't have much experience with it. It really sounds like a hassle to find Mac stuff though.

i freakin hate macs. they are so slow when i'm trying to surf the net. and sometimes i can't get websites to work. i remember trying to order my vrd foglights from my parents mac on a weekend and the page would load up with the pictures and buttons misplaced. and then whever i tried to add to cart, it said "that item doesn't exist" or something. so the next day got back to school and used my laptop pc, absolutely no problem.
