This video shows how even if everyeone else is buckled up it just takes one person in an accident to counteract the decision of everyone else wearing theirs. I know some people have been in accidents where by not having it on may have saved their life, BUT the odds of it saving your life or others is greater than it taking it.

WOW!!!

I walked (hobbled, limped, etc) away from an accident that probably should have killed me many years ago. I attribute that to my seatbelt. I've never thought that it could affect others in the car. I wish I could find that pic of me in the casts beside the car at the wrecker yard....

 

Yikes! Brutal video, but very true. Buckle-up everyone and have a safe holiday weekend.

 

I tell the same thing to people who say they have some sort of "right" to not wear a seatbelt if they don't want to after I tell them to buckle up.

Then I say "That's nice. But it's not YOU I'm really concerned about. I just don't want you to be a projectile while I'M wearing MY seatbelt."

 

If people don't put on their seatbelt when they get in the car, I put the car in park and sit there and point at the flashing light until they do it. It's funny, but I'm dead serious about it.

I'm dead serious about seatbelts too.

I don't start the car until everyone is buckled up,
and I don't tell them either. I let them figure it out.

I sat in a parkinglot for 10 minutes with my ex-girlfriend
one time until she finally got it.
