Default Post Your Funny Cop Story!

Not really that funny, but the cop's attitude was great and he had a funny one liner:

(Back in like 2001) So I am flying down a back street in Torrance, CA and I see this guy on a cop bike making a left in front of me. I think to myself, "That's a new bike Torrance hasn't gotten those yet, must be Redondo"....WRONG! I see the cop flip a U and caught up with me. Right after he turns on the lights I pull into a driveway. He pulls up behind me, walks up to my window. He says: "Wow! Where's the fire?!"

I laughed and replied: "I thought you were Redondo, when did you guys get the new bikes?"

He replied: "We are just testing them out right now, they are nice."

So he checks my stuff and asks why I'm going around town so fast, and I tell him I'm just heading on home. He said: "Ok, drive safely now...and nice car!"

lol, up here in WA I'm not so lucky

I have a story too!!!
About a year ago, I was driving down a one way 4 lane street and I see a motorcycle cop on the corner. I quickly opened my windows cause I have illegal tints. Then I see him pull out of the corner and follow me for 2 blocks. He pulls up next to me at the stop light and looks at me. I gave him a smile then he asks if I like my car. haha I told him I love it and we begin talking about the engine and the spacious interior. Funny thing was he kept talking to me when the light turned green and left the intersection. At the next stop light he told me he wants to buy a tC now too and then he left haha

my friends son was pulled over in his new car. The cop gets outs of the car - up to the window and asks says- This a real nice car is it new?
The boy responds yes
The cop says what year is it?
The boy says 2006
The cop says does this car come equiped with turn signals because a couple of blocks a go you failed to use them.
He said he was speechless and put his head down.

The boy was given a warning but you had to be there to hear him tell. Very funny- I hope u get the jst of it.

Got pulled over by a state police officer a couple months back, he asks me to roll up my window halfway and he pops out a light meter. I register something around like 11.8% so he goes about saying how the legal limit is 70% and what not and that my tints are illegal and that I "should either get them removed or go back and get them tinter... I uh mean darker... err, lighter... Ahhh get out of here and stay out of trouble"

And with that he just fixed his trooper hat, nudged up his aviator sunglasses, turned around and hopped back in his car. I'm sitting there half speechless and half on the verge of cracking up with my 2 friends.

I've got one. I was in Newport Beach with a girl I was talking to at the time. It was around 10 pm and I was about to get on the 55n in Costa Mesa there. (for those familiar with the area) I stopped at a red light and noticed a Costa Mesa pd car in a gas station parking lot. I thought nothing of it and as the light turned green and i started to go, the cop pulled behind me and lit me up. I pulled over on a side street (it was poorly lit), rolled down both front windows, turned off my truck and put the keys on the roof. The copper got out and was walking down the sidewalk on the passenger side of my car very slowly. Because his spotlight was shining right in my rear view mirror, I could only see his silhouette, but I noticed he was drawn down (gun out of his holster). Now I know its Costa Mesa and they dont see much action, but I thought to myself, "does a whiteboy driving a stock dodge dakota with a cute little blonde girl in the front seat seem like a 'high risk' situation?" So I yelled out of the passenger window, "Officer, you can holster your firearm, I have no weapons whatsoever is the car and I am posing no immediate threat!" He got up to the passenger window and I noticed he was a younger cop. He asked for my information; I gladly gave it to him. He then asked if I knew what he pulled me over for. I told him I had no idea. (my tags were up to date, no illegal modifications, not speeding etc...) He told me that I had no front license plate...

I laughed...

I told him I was going to step out of the car so we could have a word. I asked him where he learned to approach a vehicle with his weapon drawn for a MINOR fix-it ticket.

He had no reply. But said he wasnt going to write me up for it. I told him to write the ticket and to request the presence of his supervisor immediately.

Long story short, the Sargent on duty that night just happened to be an old partner of my father's. They worked 77th division in LA together for a few years but he lateraled over to Costa Mesa PD cause it was closer to home. The officer was written up for unwarranted display of a firearm and was pushin' a pencil at the front desk the last time I heard...

It couldnt have been any better!

A little over two years ago I'm sitting on Brace Road in Cherry Hill, NJ. The Ellisburg Circle. Across the road from me on the Kings Highway side is a cop in a cruiser.

This is about 12:45 to 1 AM, coming home from The Coastline because we didn't want to go to Philly and Top Dog sucks.

Anyway, sitting at the light as Rt. 70 has the right of way (with no traffic) the cop suddenly turns on his light and goes through the intersection. No big deal if he's actually got somewhere to be and there's zero traffic, right?

He goes through the light and as he turns left onto 70 he turns into the DunkinDonuts on the corner, right into the drive through.

That's pretty good, Mexican.

Cops think they're allowed to have all sorts of liberties because of their badge. I undertsand that they're "protecting" the public, but he was just being a jerk.

I know that Torrance PD (SoCal) are trained to approach with firearms drawn if they feel any threat, i.e.: tinted windows, multiple passengers, gang members, etc. Better safe than sorry! But they are notorious for being hard core, **** ******. ..I should know, I'm married to a former TPD douche, lol.

this happened to me when i still had my civic. so the week before i was pulled over for loud exhaust and just had my car exhaust tested to see how loud it was. it registered a 89. the legal limit is 95. so kewl i received my certificate of compliance and i carried in my car all the time. then one night i was coming home for lunch and 2 blocks from my house i get a sac p.d. cruiser behind me. i already knew he was gonna get me. he follows me all the way to my house and turns on his lights as i enter my driveway. he comes up to me and asks me do i know why i got pulled over. i was like i have no clue. so he says my exhaust is too loud. he then get my i.d and runs a search and all that. when he comes back to my car i hand him my certificate from the state referee station and he reads it over and hands it back to me. then he pretends to get an emergency call on his walkie and justs leaves without saying anything. what an idiot. completely wasted of 20 minutes from my lunch.

I understand probably cause. And I'm for profiling. But from what I could see, the situation for this officer posed no threat. My windows werent tinted, the car wasnt stolen, Im not a gang member nor do I look like one. I even asked the Sarg. if an APB had gone out for a vehicle or suspect that matched my description, all turned up nada...

But I guess not having a front license plate is reason enough to draw down. How much do you think costa mesa pd would be paying if that officer accidentally squeezed off a round and hit someone? While your firearm is your lifesaver, it should be used as the last line of defense. The way I see it, an officer should be READY to un-holster his weapon (have the safety snap undone) and maybe have his hand on the gun, but to actually have it out and ready to fire... come on.

Im at the local safeway filling up, and i see a row of 4 cops sitting at the light nearby, and the SECOND i started my car car every single one of them turned their heads and stared...

anyways i pull out a couple minutes later and i see one of them pulled over just waiting for me. As soon as i pass he gets behind me and rides me for a while, minding you i have my subs turned down all the way, so i decide to have a lil bit of fun with this douche behind me, so i go realllllllly slow thru the intersection and then i CRANK the stereo(that you can probably here from 5 miles away) and before i even get thru the intersection he lights me up.

He comes up with a big smile on his face and i had about the same look on my face and he chuckles, "son, i know you know why I pulled you over, turn down that thing you call a stereo before you make the whole neighborhood's ear's bleed"

I laughed and said "yes sir" and he asked about the car, i believe his exact words were "how do you say that...SKION?" i chuckled a bit and said SCION,

"well however the hell you say it, this is a pretty nice machine"

"thanks officer"

i like cops that arent dicks all the time! everytime this cops sees me now he waves to me :D

I totally agree with your situation. I was just explaining why an officer might approach a vehicle with weapon drawn, even if it's just a T-stop.

The fist time I went on a ride-a-long as a cadet, I remember seeing the officer approach the vehicle with weapon drawn and at his side. I remember thinking, Whoah! What's going on!...and after asking why, the officer told me it's just officer safety if there are multiple occupants and they had tint, so it was hard to see what was going on inside.
