Now let me make it clear...I AM NOT a Ford fan!

But, I spent 3 weeks in Vegas and drove to San Fran ( for work ). My rental car was a Ford Mustang convertible.

That thing was great. Aerodynamics were impressive for the sheer fact that I could carry on a conversation with a passenger without yelling with the top and windows down. It also had some good get up and go.

I guess the biggest thing was the fact that it was a convertible ( which I have never had ).

Someday...

sweet man! yeah ford's mustangs are very decent ive driven a few of the new ones already and i can honestly say it doesnt feel like ur typical ford it seems as if the put more time and effort into the design of the new ones hopefully they can apply that same level of effort into their other cars and possibly stay on top of the automotive industry

About the only thing that I found disappointing was how cheap the interior was. Too much crappy plastic. The shifter ( although automatic ) is this oversize piece of plastic.

However, I do like the look of the guage cluster. Retro and clean.

The brakes didn't seem that bad to me, considering I was rolling pretty hard in CA.

There were a number of times that I was on the interstate and found myself going 90+, thinking I was only going 70ish. I did get the chance to ( following a ticket-chaser ) have it up to almost 120. I really wished that it was a stick instead of auto. But in passing on two lane roads, flooring it resulted in a low growl and the car taking off like a rocket. 55 to 80 in a blink.

I don't think that it was a GT, although I am not sure. I know it was a V6, I can't remember how many liters.

the weakest link on the mustangs is the handling, where everyone complains. great straightaway car, so if you live at one end of a drag strip and work on the other, then it's a great car to get.

I did a lot of highway driving so I agree. I guess I was a little nervous to go crazy with it, mostly based on the fact that I could tell just from the amount of time that I spent with it that it was a bit of a land yacht. Not huge but considering it wasn't a performance model, I didn't get the feeling that I could really give it the hard handling that I would have wanted.

Yeah, I know it wasn't my car but I didn't want to end up wrecked just so that I could see whether or not it could really handle exstensively.

Handling on the highway was exceptional, though.
