I picked up the latest edition of Import Tuner, and as I was skimmin through it, I made it to the comic book portion (MAXBOOST) section of the mag. They sorta poke fun at our Scion tC in it. The break down of the story is thus:
The cartoon bad guys Rip, Slug, and Torch are on their way to meet someone, and they look down the road and spot this car who they think is a cop. The car has red and blue flashing lights on it. As they get closer, there is this little cartoon drawing of a dude who looks like an Eminem wannabe, with a visor hat turned backwards. And what he is driving is a Scion tC with GET THIS...APC (of all companies) neon lights that flash red and blue.
Apparently he ran out of gas, and is asking the bad guys if they were on their way to the Psyonic meet. They respond with "Is that your ride? That's the new Tizzy?
To which the ricer replys: "Hell yeah, homie. It's brand spanking new and already modded! Check me out!
I got a supercharger, carbon fiber hood, some racing seats, TEIN suspension, Stoptech brakes...cat-back Exhaust, some blingtastic wheels Yo, Navigation system, bommin' stereo, and of course the BliNgtastic APC NEON-lights, BRO!"
(by the way, I'm not exaggerating this, this is straight from the magazine.)
Bad guys reply: You got all of those goodies in your ride?
ricer reply: Hell Yeah
Bad guys reply: What's that worth? Then there is a blurb thought bubble that reads "Nice car, Stupid Owner"
ricer reply: Atleast 15 grand (with a 21% APR, its more like 30 grand over 20 years) But you didn't need to know that...
Bad guys reply: Hmm..10 Grand of stuff...nice.
ricer reply: Nice? It's better than NICE. HomIE! This is how I ROLL!
Fool-This is da Car Club Street Fly Boys in the HOUSE! BETTA RECOGNIZE!
(then the next comic shot is that of a black out, and you see a little "POOF" in the next shot, and the tC is missing the wheels that was on it, and it's sitting on the ground on it's brake rotors.)
ricer reply: HEY! How'd you do that?! What the crap!? I'm Calling my HOMIES!
Bad guys reply: Not if we steal your phone, too!
(then another "POOF" and the ricers cell phone disappears out of his hand)
ricer reply: WHA!? I'm gonna kill you guys!!
Bad guys reply: Hey, atleast we let you keep your LIGHTS!
So, I take it that Import Tuner is hating on the Scion tC's. And implying that we are just a bunch of ricers. When the ricer said he had 15 grand in the car, and they replied, so you have 10 grand in the car...was it implying that the car is only worth about 5 grand?
Or am I just reading to much into this little comic. Then again, Neil Jin's (spelling?) widebody tC is pictured in an ad early in the magazine (when it was red of course).

Hmmmm..... I think it means that we can finance ever thing except gas............thus this......., if we'd bought a domestic car gas would been included for the first year........but mods like power steering, automatic, anti-lock brakes, and air conditioning would all be $250 options.
Oh... and extra for seat belts, inflated tires, and all the other stuff they charge you for when you buy a GM or Ford. I HATE THAT SH^T!!! Like I'm such of a cheap bastard that I won't even buy cruise control cause I'm trying to keep the price at what the commercial said, (since that is the reason I came in the show room in the first place)
on the link above, there is a cartoon that shows the thief in an xB. I guess they are making fun of xb's, and all people that drive xb's are thieves. Dude, two things.
1. It's a cartoon.
2. Super Street is better.
Laters.

Um, for the record honda-basher guys, honda isn't the only car company where 16 year old kids rice out the cars.
I've seen riced out toyotas just as much as honda, nissan, fords, anything. Not to mention i've seen a few tCs, xas and xb's riced out as well.
Get over yourselves and realize honda isn't the only car company where kids disrespect what they have. It happens to any car with the wrong owner.
