I don't even remember my statement being applauded. And I'm not saying it's hot to objectify him. I think it's hot because some people assume that ___ guys (like women) know nothing about cars, so it's good to see someone who is bucking that trend. If a straight man said the same thing about a woman, I'd think that was a compliment and not something chauvanistic.

I mean that from what I've seen most other gays would agree or at least not degrade your opinion whereas the same type of comment from a straight guy about a woman would be shunned.
