I'm so on the fence of what to do. I think I'll hold on to the TC a little longer. I'll start putting it back to a normal daily driver and try coilovers to see if it will become more fun to drive again. Still debating to remove the turbo or not. Was a ZPI stage 1 now a stage 0 with intercooler do to some tuning issues.

The WRX has a rebuilt/swap trans, which is why I was considering it. I'm for the mini but at the same time I want power. But dam that mini looks good! I'm crunching some numbers tonight to see if I'll buy it. One wrinkle in my plans is that I also came across a nice GTO for about $18K. 400 hp, 4 seat corvette could be some serious fun. Ok not really a vet but it does have its power just not looks.

your TC is an awesome ride; no way i'd part with it for a mini.....
though at a recent car show I did see an older mini with a chevy small block in place of the back seat.....
for that one... maybe...

GTO ftw. It won't take a turn very well but it has plenty of power and is really nice to drive/ride in.

Well then, I'll have to be extra careful to not talk about the xA then.

I don't know what you could say about the xA. I disagree with you on the tC too. What could you buy in the same price range that is less "blah"?

I can say a lot of things about the xA.

As for the tC, it's blah, just like almost all the other cars are blah out there. I think having xBs has warped my opinion on a lot of vehicles. Nothing out there will do it for me unless they're unique and or a little screwy looking, lol.

Ok, but you didn't answer my question. Besides the xb (because you are biased) what other car in the price range of the xa would you buy instead that is less "blah"? And same question but for the tC?

Why do I have to answer such a question? Never once did I say one could find better in that price range. What I said was that I would have a Mini over a tC, any day. I also hinted that I dislike the xA but did not give a reason why.

But I'll play... I just don't want you to go "HA, I proved something to you!" in your next post. So here is my answer - I do not know of cars in the tC and xB price range that are less blah or whatever. I could, however, come up with a long, long list of cars I'd rather have than an xA or tC though.

As I could probably find a list twice as long of cars I'd rather have then a Xb

since the fun is beginning...
imo, the tC is a replacement for the 90s honda civics.
generic coupe, but you could spend a ton and make it a unique coupe. When I would have been happy to have a cheap fwd sports cars/cheap interior, I woulda loved the tC, over what else is out there. and toyota reliabilty? hell yeah.

the xA. i think it would be mucho better had it been 2 door, and had the 1.8 corolla motor.

we all know FOR THE MONEY AND STANDARD FEATURES, it's hard to beat scion.

currently I think the fit, the 3door hatch civic, the 3door hatch yaris, would be my choice before the xA if i wanted a car like that.

car and driver sumed up the xA pretty well in it's review of the xD:

"The xA was seriously dorky, drove every bit like the cheap econocar it was and, let’s face it, wasn’t much for the eyes—it looked like a melted stack of pancakes."

Oh... i see. I guess my only response is... Duh. Who wouldn't take a ferrari over the xb? Does that make the xb blah? I don't think so. I don't think that is fair to call a tC "blah" compared to cars more expensive. You would consider the 350z to not be a "blah" car right? Would you rather have a diablo? If we are using "there are nicer cars out there" to judge the "blah" factor of a car then the only non "blah" cars would be 500k+. Just doesn't seem logical.

Blah, blah, Blah
I have to agree there really is nothing that compares feature and look wise to a new TC and its cost. However, at the same time there is something about driver fun that is so blah about the TC without mods. As you add mods the blah goes slowly away but at the same time if you compare the cost to a good used car then all you can say is blah.

Used low mileage WRX, GTO, Mini all have a higher fun factor and will cost you the same as a modified TC. Yes A mod TC provides you with a nice feeling and gets lots of good comments but at what expense? As for the XA, nice car but blah. I would take a fit, or yaris over it. The new XD looks promissing. Not dissing TC's or XA;s but it just seems to be a fact. I still like both cars but...............................

This is the sort of stupid reply I'd knew I'd get from you, thus the reason I didn't want to entertain your idiotic question.

Lets painfully break this down into little chunks...

Oh... i see. I guess my only response is... Duh. Who wouldn't take a ferrari over the xb? Does that make the xb blah? I don't think so.
WTF with the Ferrari and xB? Let me repeat this to you nice and slowly, I never said anything about cars and their price in this thread, nor do I think price = a car I like. In other words, come on down from your "OMG, I made a point" high because it's truly not deserved.

I don't think that is fair to call a tC "blah" compared to cars more expensive. You would consider the 350z to not be a "blah" car right? Would you rather have a diablo?
Oh for the love of God... who effing is comparing the tC to more expensive cars? I even told you I wasn't in my last post. Why are you like this? You're just making stuff up. Seriously, go back in this thread and quote me saying anything about money and bonus points to you if you find me talking about money and it's relationship to the tC. I triple dog dare you to.

And just so you know, since you're stuck on this cheap=blah thing, I totally don't think that way. That 2008 Smart car is going to be about 11-14k and that's not blah. What about that Dodge Caliber? Please don't go breaking down price vs. value and whatever. For the love of God don't.

If we are using "there are nicer cars out there" to judge the "blah" factor of a car then the only non "blah" cars would be 500k+. Just doesn't seem logical.
You're delusional. I never made the points such as you're accusing me of making in that quoted text. And oh dear God, how freaking funny are you with your 500k+ car. Are you implying that 500k+ cars are the only ones that could not be "blah" when compared to the tC? And then made a statement about your logical superiority?

And if you want, I could easily get a good list going of cars I feel are less blah that cost under $500,000.

Whoa... easy girl... I honestly did not mean to get you upset.

OK... here we see that there is nothing in the same PRICE RANGE that you think is less "blah".

Here we see that there are indeed cars that you would rather have presumably because they are less "blah". We must also assume that these cars are more expensive because you have already stated that there is nothing comparitively priced less "blah". Conclusion being that you are comparing higher priced cars to cheaper cars and judging thier "blah"ness thusly.

Why do you hate me?

Going off topic was fun but lets keep it in good taste as I know these things can get out of hand. As an update to my plans. I have passed on the mini and will slowy - very slowly parting out my car. Eventualy I will trade or sell it and get either a used STI or GTO. Not sure which but probably won't happen till around christmas. Thanks for all of your input as it seems the Keep TCs have one for now.
