Default Sirius vs. XM

I am thinking of getting Satellite Radio (Finally!) for my tC. My husband has Sirius, and he loves it, but I wanted to get everyone's take on what they prefer and why: Sirius vs. XM.

Can anyone help me out?

Have you checked the channel lineups on both of them? Music themes are pretty much the same. But they do differ with some exclusive channels like Howard Stern, ESPN, etc.

Oh yeah, XM and Sirius have merged into one company although I think they'll continue to operate separately. (Talk about monopoly )

Anyways, I have Sirius and I love it. My GF has XM and she loves it. I pay 12.95/mo and I think she pays about the same. It all depends on which exclusive channels you'd want t have. GL!

I wouldn't own a car without XM in it. Both my wife and I have had XM since they went live in 2001. As far as channel line ups they are about the same with the exception of things like Howard Stern and a few others.

Since they merged I am sure they'll come up with something eventually, so at this point I don't think it really matters who you go with at some point you'll wind up with both.

The better thing is to take advantage of a family pricing plan, if your husband has Sirius than you might get a discount for signing up under his plan. When we had one XM, we were charged $9.99 a month under a "family plan" we're charged $6.99 per month each.

Check it out.

Cheers
Rob

I recommend getting Sirius since your husband is already on it. Sirius and XM did merge with Sirius being the parent company basically or the one with the more power.

I've been told by friends at Sirius that the channels will start merging as soon as a few weeks. Then eventually the reciever units will start being universal.

I am moving this thread to general topic

Do the online free 3 day trail and see how you like them both.
