Default So on the highway today, had a little incident...

The GF came over today and we were on our way to a little sports bar that has an awesome steak dinner + drink special on Monday nights, the xB is still in pieces so we jumped into my beater (bad decision happened right there) and took off, I got right down onto the the interstate she glances at the hood on the Saturn, and the conversation is as follows

Michelle - Hey, is the hood secure?
Me - Yeah
Michelle - Why does it look like it is floating?
Me - Because it is
Michelle - Its not gonna hit the windshield is it?
Me - No, I drove on the highway to work today, we should be fine....
*Wham*
Me - But I could be wrong...

So after stopping at walmart for some bungee cords, we decided that we were just gonna grab a sub at the subway and then head back to my house...

Something wrong with this, isnt it?

Pics of the damage...

Then I broke out the tool that I needed to fix it, and after about 20 minutes of therapy it was all aerodynamic and I was happy

Absolutely nothing can aggravate me right now, that is how relaxed I am ...

no, that square looking thing, and with the fact that I have replaced just about every part of the fuel system, it might not be "accidental"

Go find a demo derby and enter it.

Only thing is the back half doesn't look that bad. Maybe a trip the the u-pull-it junk yard is in order. Insurance should replace the windshield for you.

LOL me too. I was thinking the same thing when I saw it in his pic.

If there is a lesson to be learned here, it's always listen to the wife/GF. If they're wrong, so be it. But if YOU are wrong...God help you. You'll never hear the end of it.

I dont have comprehensive coverage on it, so there is no glass replacement coverage, with the car being 12 years old with close to 300K on the ticker any accident that is had will total the car, and seeing as how the value before this was around $234.18 I didnt see a plus side to covering it... I did call around this morning to see about the price of glass, anywhere between $500-700 installed... I did however find a parts car on craigslist for $250, runs/drives no interior... Im waiting for pics to be sent to me, as long as it is a second/third gen sedan/wagon I can swap my interior into it...

and I would love to demo derby it, but because the shell is plastic and wont protect me at all, I cant

Just leave the hood up and cut a few holes to see through.
