so my 360 died on me
i went to play some need for speed most wanted, turned it on and got three red lights. So i hopped online to see what that meant, and sure enough its hardware failure. unfortunately i dont have the warranty on it either, so i guess im out of luck. ugh, oh well, i guess its off to buy a new one.

my 360 just died to...if ya read the forums at xbox you would have seen that microsoft has added a year to the warranty so its free...id call asap if i was you ....they ask if ya have a recipt i said no but i know that i bought it feb -march of last year and they sent me a box so im just waiting to get mine back now...very fast and easy to do just get the info from your 360 ..serial # is all ya need

I bought a 360 for $150 of someone. It had hardware failure. Calles M$ up, told them it was broken. They sent me a box, packed it up and shipped it to them. Less than week later, I had a brand new 360 at my door. They dont fix them, they just send you a new one.
And the whole return thing does work. My friend did it all the time when the xbox would crap out. He would f'up occasionally when modding the xbox, and return the f'ed up box for a new one using method descibed above. shady? yes.
shady yes, M$ domination global empire, shady as well.... i dont do it, im just saying it works.... well i did do it once when i modchipped and f'd up... lol.... if u call the #, you wouldn't have the xbox for a whole WEEK.... if you buy and return on credit you don't need to have that much $, but ppl who drive scions are usually completely broke... i think kialife.com is for that...

XBOX extended the warranty period for early gen units. You should call them.
Worst case scenario, you can fix it with a $15 heat gun:
