Differs per state, but in Oklahoma 15 or less over is 162, then its $20 per every mile after that. If you reach thirty over then its a fellany and you go to court for decision. So if Ohio is anything like Oklahoma, it'd be 162 + 2*20= 202. Then court fees and all usually push it up 50-100 so anywhere between 252 and 302.

Its usually a flat rate for a certain mileage above the limit, like 10 or 15, and then theres a rate per mile after that. hmm.. 52-35 = 17. Lets say the flat rate is for 10 miles over, and its 150, i think, in houston. Then its $10 per mile after that. so.. 150 + 70 = 220. I might be wrong with the flat rate, but its just an example. Good luck getting it settled. Go take defensive driving to keep it off your record.

I'd probably worry more about the rise in insurance rates than the ticket.

Damn! I didn't realize prices had gone up that much over the years.

Last time I got a speeding ticket on the freeway, I believe it was $32 out the door. (I was about 10 over.)

i had that exact same situation, doing 52 in a 35, but my cop was cool and just put down 5 over, so i ended up paying 30 bucks at court.

Paying the $$ for ticket is not important here, the important thing is the insurance increase in the long run.

Depends on jurisdiction, I'm sure. Some don't give so much as a clue what the cost might be on the ticket.

interesting .... so that doesn't mean that the ticket was incomplete ? because if the ticket was written incompletely at the time of issuance, you could use that to invalidate the ticket claim. there are tons of loopholes in getting out of tickets.

I got one of those three years ago in SoCal, 54 in 35. Ticket was $126.
Two months ago got a 60 in a 45 and the ticket was $122, but that was in WAshington.
