Spur of the moment addition to the family (PICS)

The Wifey and I decided we needed more life in the house...

2 female guinea pigs (Beatrice and Lola)

The cage is made out of....
1. Metal Wire Cubes (cable tied for extra durability)
2. Coroplast
3. Fleece
4. Cedar bedding

They're in there... just hiding....
One is in the igloo and the other is wrapped up in a piece of fleece, kinda looks like a burrito.

do they pee on the fleece? if so, how do you keep that clean?

They can be litter trained...
Fleece is actually very liquid resistant, so it can be easily "sponged" up. Im sure I will have to create cleaning regime where the fleece will get washed.

cool, I had been thinking about getting some guineas myself.. As soon as I can track down some baby ones.. habitats for these little turds are expensive.. I'm wondering if I could build one, but I'm afraid that my poor cage-making craftsmanship will cause an escape and our labs will get a guinea snack.

need better pics of your new furry friends, man if i had a set up like that all the cats in the house would be all in that

Yeah I know.... just have to keep the door shut.

If I had closed the cage off it would be a huge pain in the **** to feed them or take them out etc...

those pigs can chew through small gauge wires so i would recommend lining the insides w/ chicken wires... & then paint it black to match it w/ the rest

They wont be able to eat through this....
I had a hard enough time cutting it with wire snippers (a real pair).

Plus this material is praised by (i hate to say this) "guinea pig enthusiasts." LOL

I'm allergic to g. pigs.... I used to go over my friends house and sneeze like crazy. Then i picked one up and broke out in rashes... weird..... But i'm not allergic to hamsters/gerbils......
