sadly, in a comparo between the subaru sti, vw r32, and the mitsubishi evoX, the sti came in last.

Highs: fantastic high-end grund, supple ride, an interior worthy of the sticker price

Lows: Vague, overly assisted steering, flaccid power below 4000 rpms, a chasis set to terminal understeer

Verdict: Plenty of power in need of some finesse

so it sounds like subaru needs to do some refining on this chassis before it can be a masterpeice.

 

im not a big fan of the new hatch style iwould have like to see it as the 4 door but i think the sti overall is a way better car...i think the engine has more reliability than the vw,mitsu and the other awd cars like the dodge caliber etc...im more attracted to the wrx/sti style than the evo ,vw,..im not saying that others are crap but i belive that subaru went out on a limb to bring it to the states and are pushing others to compete and i think its awsome.....any car that is awd with 300+ hp is sweet but subaru just floats my boat and to see the 4 bangers beat a v8 make's me happy...

i loved the previous STi's but sorry to say the new ones

Eww, the WRX/STI has looked worse every year since the 2000 models. The new design is just a complete failure.

 

Great car.. all of them, I would purchase any of them in a heart beat, if I could..

 

the old body style was called the "watermelon design" because when involved in a collision, it would burst like a watermelon, which was bad.

 

i guess i'm the only one who has no problem with the new sti's look...

 

I like the new STI. Just put some of those family stick-figure stickers on the rear window and it's the ultimate sleeper car!

I love WRXs and STis. When my cars paid off I want to do a JDM STi EJ20 swap in a '94-'01 Impreza...

and keep the tC of course
