I have a 2004 xB and coming home from work tonight a tc was next to me and took off on the green. I know a tc is faster than than the xB but is it necessary to show off?

When I came up to them on the next light I noticed it was two punk kids showing off.

Come on grow up there is no need to show off to your fellow scion owners!

Don't let a few punks give all of us tC owners a bad name. Everytime I see another scion, be it xB or xA, I always try to give a friendly nod/wave if they notice.

I own a tC and if there is a driver under 30years old in an xB next to me: I notice they try to show off on me.

Then I slam down the accelerator and laugh at them in my rearview mirror.

BUT ANYWAY, LISTEN TO THIS. I think it's funny when xB owners complain about other people showing off. Not all, but a huge amount BOUGHT A LARGE BOX ON WHEELS to show off.

Don't let them give us a bad name. The exact opposite usually happens to me. A slower car will rev at me. Although one time I did have this nice Stang blow it's pipes at me, to which I jestured back with a pipe from the Blitz exhaust.

 

When ever I see another scion ,xA, xB or a tc I always give them a wave or maybe a flash of the headlights and usually I'll get the same thing back.

I'm sorry that it came off wrong I'm not trying to say they gave a tc a bad name, but people need to grow up!

I had something happen about a month ago on the 405....I just dropped off my gf at work (bc i'm nice like that and she didnt feel like driving at 5am)...i was drivin back to long beach kinda fast, weavin in and around what little traffic there was...when I see some HID lights coming up behind me fast...i see that it's an srt-4...so the kid pulls up next to me and slows to match my speed...i'm thinking "come on, theres no way......."....so i put my foot on the gas just a LITTLE just to see what would happen...and BAM he floors it and takes off way ahead of me..........HA! yeah, like he thought i was gonna take him seriously and race him...it WAS pretty funny though....but man, some people.......i bet he felt proud of himself that he smoked a car with less than 50% of his whp...LOL

 

im torn between what to say...most of the people i see with Scion's are cool and just wave or honk...while there were a few who ignored...most of those being tc owners...i dont know if thats just a personal experience or what...but ive got a bunch of friends with tC's, so im not bashing...but imo i think that the xA and the xB are the original Scion's and the tC is the new child in the family...or more like the lively bigger red-headed stepchild that is ____ed off...just because it is so radically different from what the xA and xB were about...style and functionality...big room in a little package,..and being frugal.

 

Usually when I see another Scion on the road I wave like a maniac and bounce up and down in my seat just because it's really entertaining to see the other person's reaction. It's resulted in a few people following me though, because they thought I was hitting on them or something (most of the people that drive Scions around here are young guys). But most of the time I get a confused smile and a nod before they take off.

 

the issue is that kids now a days can easily have access to have a car that have HP that they cannot handle, and they think they are invincible on the road...... sadly, the only time they will learn from their mistake is from an accident - whether they get themselves or others killed or injured.... *sigh*.....

 

well, i don't think we should have any in-fighting between scions. or toyotas really, for that matter. If you have to be stupid and race someone in the street, pick on a civic. or an ion, or sunfire, or rsx. but racing someone you know has an engine much smaller than yours is pathetic.
You could beat up on your little sister, too, but what does that prove?
