Default Ticket while on your permit?!

I was out with my brother giving him some practice with my tC, then on this straitaway he decides to punch the gas a little more than usual. Right when I said he needed to slow down there was a cop driving on the opposite direction about 200 feet away. Never the less he gets pulled over and gets a fat ticket. Can the cop actually give him a ticket while on his permit?! He was speeding, but I would think that the cop should of just called our parents rather than do the norm. Give tickets. I don't even know what's going to happen, any advice anyone?

lol call your parents ??? whats that special treatment ???? lol

post what was the violation????
exhibition of speed? unsafe speed ?

a permit doesnt mean a get out of jail permit.

you will have to pay the fine, go to court, plead, traffic school and probly be on probation for x months.

Actually it's a pretty good treatment when you have to go home and deal with freaken ____ed parents that are ashamed that their son just got pulled over for speeding. Sometimes the idea of getting pulled over is enough, a fine is just a hassle. Anyways he was doing 56 in a 35, don't even know how he got up to speed so quick, so I'm kinda skeptical if he was actually going that fast. even if the cop didnt give him a ticket, my bro still learned a huge lesson. NEVER SPEED.

all he can do in WA is ask for payments and a deferral which means It wont go on his record, but if he gets another one in the next few years itll come back I had to do it last year

down here in florida permitted drivers have to have their permits for an entire year before they can take the liscense test. if the permitted driver gets a ticket during that year, the year wait is reset to start on the date when the ticket was received.

Yeah that's what I am on right now, defered finding, but I guess it's never too late to learn your lesson... so what I am hearing is, the only thing he can do is just get a court date and hopefully the judge will reduce the price of the ticket?

Seeing as how you were the liscenced driver in the car, maybe he should have given YOU the ticket.

Yeah I have to blame myself for this one too, but like I said, when I told him to slow down it was too late.... I think cops really need to look at the senario rather than just facts. Yeah he was speeding, it was a straightaway, no people or cars around, he didn't maintain his (supposedly 56 mph). I think I just feel bad for him $224 isn't nice at all.

I'm not too clear about the permit rules in Washington, but I told the cop that I was his brother and all he said was, "oh, ok (while nodding his head)"

Doesn't matter if it was a straight road with no people and no traffic....though apparently there was traffic, the cop. 56 in a 35 is way too fast.
Your brother is lucky. Some states would pull his permit.
