Top Gear USA
Searched and didnt find anything on this.
So, to those of you who don't know, Top Gear USA is making its third attempt to come to reality. It will be on the History channel, surprisingly.
Here's the lowdown and even a couple trailers they have already filmed. I have also heard they season 1 is filmed completely and the first episode will air this month, I think.

Where do I go to sign up to be the STIG?

Ok, I was keeping up via Jalopnik's Facebook page.
I'm eastern time zone
My basic summarization of the show is that is started out weak but ended with me wanting to see more. The audio didn't sound quite right to me and the commercials sounded good so it's not my tv. The cinematography didn't quite seem as good as TG UK but I feel they will sort this out in time.
I think the show is a keeper. The hosts need to find their groove and get comfortable. They seem nervous. Just give them time.
Original episodes of the UK TG SUCKED. Takes time.

That seems to be the general consensus with everyone I've talked to. The Viper vs. Cobra segment was a cool concept, but like you mentioned it was lacking something in the cinematography dept.

You cant think of it as a replacement. We all still love the original. We just get our own version for the off season. Even though there is a overlap, who can complain with twice as much Top Gear?
UK Top Gear is now only 6 or 7 shows. Our version will be at least 10 per season. Yay.

Yeah, it's the "don't give an eff" attitude and the crazy shiz that Jeremy, James and Richard do that the US hosts are lacking. They needed to come in with guns blazing. I'm sure they knew how much anticipation there was. But still too early to make a judgement call, honestly. Lets give them some time and see what they can do.

I just caught the end of it when they ran the three Lamborghinis on a top speed run. Will have to catch a rerun before I say yay or nay to the show. Most likely it'll be a wait it out and see what the future episodes bring, there should be nothing but good progress though.

They will never find their niche. You have Tanner and two idiots. The nerdy one followed nascar for one season and he received the job...that is how desperate the producers were. This show will always suck because of the cast. The hosts are the foundation of the show. Known of them can naturally deliver the script, it sounds like they're forcing each and every line. If they wanted a decent start, they should have hired Matt Farah.

I just recognize Tanner Foust out the cast, don't know who the hell the other two are. There was a major lack of humor(was there any?), none of them are animated, needs some enthusiasm to capture the audience, I think the audience laughter was even forced. They have to really step their game up to what we're used to of the UK series. Maybe bring in Xzibit, he'll clown on the other hosts.

Didnt watch it but plan to. Although the cast has nobody funny in it from the previews i have seen. The need someone with a clint eastwood personality, someone with ADHD, and then some hippy from san fransico so we can make fun of him and his hybrid thought process!
