It's a good thing I bought my Scion when I did so that I can say "It's made by Toyota" and not say "It's a POS Ford!"...

A merger between Ford and Toyota could work. All they have to do is:

1. Have Toyota buy Ford outright.

2. Sell off ALL Ford technology and equipment. (Destroy all Ford blueprints).

3. Send all Ford employees to super-intensive 6 month retraining class.

ford actually has a good hybrid system just in the wrong car (escape). Ford actually licenses some of the technology from Toyota. my guess is they want to team up with toyota and make THE hybrid system and kick GM out of that market.

Ford's hybrid technology is Toyota's older 1st generation system. Toyota let Ford start using it when Toyota came out with the current Synergy Drive technology. Ford is too busy worrying about NASCAR to develop anything useful.

my understand was that Ford and Toyota came out with very similar hybrid technology very close to each other. and rather then sue each other they exchanged tech. toyota gets to use ford diesel tech and ford uses toyotas hybrid tech

yes it is. Ford and Toyota use the same supplier for there hybrid technology. they two systems were developed independantly from each other. Toyota released theres 1st and ford didnt want legal trouble because the systems are similar (since they are using the same supplier) so they traded technology

Who thinks Ford is "too busy" with nascar? Toyota is spending SO much money in Nascar right now. You need to get facts in order.

Ford is too busy trying to win, while Toyota will be too busy washing the champage off the cars.

I take it you love your NASCAR, don't you?

You might want to review how they did their first year of truck racing.
