yeah, jack and coke is a classic, can't go wrong with that.
later on down the line if you need a drink to relax to (not get trashed from it), try this:
Make a pitcher of strawberry lemonade and mix in whiskey to taste. Perfect drink for a hot afternoon, or when you want to wind down after a long day, but not strong enough to f you up (unless you make it that way)

I second the appletini, straight up. My fav with 3 cherries.
Was at a cop party and this guy made them with a thin slice of a cored out apple, length wise. It was a yummy treat at the end.

Pineapple upside down cake is my absolute favorite shot (i know its girly as hell.. but it tastes SO good). (i believe its vanilla vodka, pineapple juice, splash of grenadine, irish creme and butterscotch schnapps).
Irish car bombs are always a party favorite. Everyone knows whats in those.. lol..
Red-headed **** is another good shot (jager, cranberry and peach schnapps)
Indiana Jones (tequila, whiskey, champagne)
Screaming Banana Banshee (99 bananas, vodka, creme de cacao, cream, 1 cherry)
and you can't forget the SoCo and lime! hope you had fun, and happy birthday. peace.
