Weird...what to do?
My sister noticed I kept playing Ciara's new song "Like a Boy" about 8 times in a row. I didn't realize at first why, but then it hit me: the beat is the spit copy of what my ex bf made for me 3 years ago :?
The violin/instrumental intro of the song IS my ex-bfs; he is a Drum n Bass DJ and made a piece for me when we were still together. The song is saved somewhere under my university's log in.
Now I forgot my uni password since I grad in 05. I dunno should I tell him? Should I go try hack into my uni stuff? Should I just chill out?
Mind, it ended badly, no closure so I still think of him so I don't really wanna contact him (last time we "spoke" - more like yelled - was in 05) but he's poor as a cent so what if he could claim something?
I'm not $hitting, this is exactly the same notes and everything as that song.

Most D&B DJ's get their stuff from other DJs. This is especially true in the underground scene where sharing is the norm. For all we know, the original notes came are from Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Mendelsohn or Strauss.

and he did it on the computer next to me in a couple hours without listening to music
but maybe he has extremely good memory and recaptured someone else's notes beat by beat
Did he record the beat under a label or some on a CD that he has the rights to? If not he in no way shape or from get any royalties from the song, even if he could prove that he had the beat firts. So if you want to find out if he will be rich them yea give him a cll he could end up supporting you for the rest of your life?
I got more than enough money
I wanna do it for a better life for his mother for the crap she has been put through and I had no chance to say good bye to her.
But no no record label, he barely had a buck in his pockets for a water bottle. He did it on that musical software (dont remember name)

Send him a letter without your name or a return address on it. If you just want to help him out and not talk to him at all, or take any credit for it, it seems like the best idea. Just say, "Listen to ... song and notice the beat in the beginning." He may know it's from you, but then it's on him to contact you.
i would tell him. But he better have some proof he made that beat up first, and licensed it...or its no good.
btw, the ice ice baby and under pressure song are different by 1 beat. But vanilla ice still copied i think.
