So last night I hit a caltrans cone that was in the middle of the road and it cracked my front bumper.

I filed a report with caltrans today and I was wondering what chance I had on getting it replaced by them via their insurance?

 

Good luck with that.
They will just say it is a road hazard and it will be covered by your insurance minus your deductible.
Basically-- even though it was there, YOU ran into it.

 

Slim to none. Even though they may have left it in the middle of the road, JoanMarshall is right, you'll get saddled with replacing it. I don't miss CalTrans one bit. Not that the dinks here in AZ are any better. Good luck!
