I understand your friend's concerns over spending a bunch of dough for a fun weekend, but IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY. Your friends should be taking you out and buying all your drinks and what-not...

lame.

Just remember what I told ya, can buy passes for reduced admition for most clubs from taxi drivers. Try to get em for $5 if not then $10.
Also, most nice pools WILL check if you are staying at their establishment. If are not, you wont get in.
A good place to hang out, gamble and have a reasonable priced great buffet is at the Orleans, just off the strip.

I have stayed at a bunch of places down there, and I would recommend either Luxor or the Mirage. Both are right on the strip, and both are nice places to stay. Mirage is more centrally located, right next to Caesars, but Luxor is attached to Mandalay Bay and MGM. If you stay at Luxor, stay in the Pyramid. The Inclinator is a trip, especially after a few of the Margaritas from La Salsa Cantina (best melon margaritas in the world!!)...

One thing I love about Vegas is that you and your friend can walk around at any time, and as long as you stay on the strip, you will feel totally safe!

Have an awesome time...I took a friend there for her 21st, and we had a blast!

Oh, and Happy Birthday!

Yeah, the inclinators are cool, plus being above the largest atrium in the world. I think they say that seven 747s can fit in there.....margaritas by the yard baby!!

I would suggest the Top of the World restaraunt at the Stratosphere Tower probably. There are plenty of other REALLY nice/fancy restaraunts, but none are 80 stories up in a room that revolves 360 degrees every hour. And if you have reservations for the restaraunt, you don't have to pay the fee to go up the tower.

VegasDriver, I've been to almost every pool on The Strip, and was never a guest.
