Hi folks,

I was just contemplating the many "ticket stories" posted on Scionlife. I just thought I'd like to see what people tend to get in trouble for.

If you've only gotten one or two tickets, just pick what you think you're likely to get in trouble for for the future.

For me- it's freaking signage. Yep, just signage. Any intersection where there's a sign saying you CAN'T do something at that intersection which the normal rules of traffic say you can.

No right turn on red.
Right turn only

that sort of thing.

I wanted to make multiple selections, but I chose the the one I get most often: vehicle violations. One ticket for no front plate and a bunch for tint. I also got a speeding ticket when I was 17, but that was the only serious ticket I have ever had.

Speeding (5 over.. what bs)
Reckless Driving (I passed someone abruptly)
Loud Exhaust
Failure to Signal (comes with the abrupt pass when someones going 40 on a 55mph highway)
Following to close (that same slow poke)

I was a pretty big dumbass though and took some defensive driving courses and other safe driving courses. Now all my remotely dangerous driving is done on the track where insurance doesn't care if you screw up your car b/c they aren't liable!

I've only been pulled over once... for a smoked plate cover. The cop said either remove it, or get a ticket. Of course I didn't have a screwdriver on me so I had to break it off... no ticket though. :D

Speeding, speeding and more speeding. Its an addiction! Out of the 7 or so tickets I've gotten in the past 10 years 6 of them where for speeding.

I've only been given one ticket (thankfully) and it was for speeding.. I was going 54mph in a 45 zone..... unfortunately saying I'm dyslexic didn't work in this situation hehe... it was a bike cop hiding in an alley that pulled me over...not good times but glad to say its my only ticket

Ran a redlight . . . wasnt intentional and the light turned red as I was going over the line. Cop was a major a-hole about the whole situation. Lawyer got it dismissed in court due to my flawless record.

been pulled over lots of times...

Learning to drive in my '65 Mustang and was pulled over by Manhattan Beach PD for no license plate light, just a warning.

Speeding through Torrance, and noticed a police bike but thought it was another city. NOPE! TPD was testing out the new Yamahas, got a warning. He asked me "Where's the fire!"

Speeding through Torrance again, and CSI HAM pulled me over, only a warning.

Unsafe speed (10 over), I was late for a police class

Three years later...speeding (8 over) got that ticket deferred (State Patrol)

Week later, speeding home at 12am through Sequim, saw a cop and tried to outrun him, but my 6cyl Mustang was no match. He pulled me over and got out laughing. I was laughing too, he said "Nice car!" Gave me a warning.

One year later...unsafe speed (15 over) was going 22 over but the Sheriff was nice.

Speeding home in Port Angeles with hot food. Pulled over for doing 15 over but he gave me a warning. (PAPD)

Pulled over for no front plate, got a warning. (State Trooper)

Three months ago...no front plate $201 ticket, also my insurance card expired a week prior. He gave me a $535 ticket for that and noticed my overlays and gave me a warning...Judge reduced my plate ticket to $85. I had my current insurance card so that got dropped.

Two months ago, pulled over in Bremerton. He says I was going 50, but I had my cruise control set at 40, it was 35 limit. Got a warning.

wow, I'm bad. Either it's slow around here or my insurance company is cool, cuz my insurance is cheaper than when I was 18!

1 - driving with oem fogs on when it wasn't foggy (tC sometime last summer)

2 - driving with smoked license plate covers (old Nissan when I first started driving)

3 - failure to yield for a pedestrian (M3 just two weeks ago)

all just warnings, never had a ticket before.

2 for no front plate. one of them sucked, had to drive to SF to get it dismissed.

1 for not signaling properly... when pulling away from a residential curb. Got a warning though. I think the cop was just checking for dui though. He even overlooked me having passengers during my provisional period.
