Im looking at the Escort Passport 8500X50 with the Blue LED display...does anyone know of any other decent radar detectors out there in the $250-$350 price range? I know about the Valentine one but I think that needs to be wired through the car...Im just looking for something simple

 

ive got the Beltronics Vector 995 and it works great. i think i got it for 300 dont really remember. its deff paid for itself already. my g/f is in college 500 miles away so i go over there once ina while and its deff saved me from a handful of tickets. the valentine does not have to be hardwired from what i kno. a friend at work has one and he has the coiled cord. but thats a bit out of your price range, along with the fact it does not have a display as convinient to read as many other detectors and can be a bit tricky to learn to use

 

i ended up buying the passport with blue led display for $280 shipped on Ebay
