I depend on VirusBarrierX, never openiung ANYTHING I'm not sure of, two firewalls (one between my LAN and the internet, one between each machine and the LAN), encryption of all files, and strong passwords. Oh, yeah, I run Macs with OS X 10.4+ (UNIX based) and the OS requires an administrators password to do anything really nasty, and I NEVER run as admin or root unless I'm doing maintnance and am isolated even from my LAN.
I guess you could say , though, that my biggest virus protection is NOT running anything from Microsoft. :D

Surprised no one here has mentioned F-Prot. 4 out of 5 heavy torrent downloaders approve. (http://www.fprot.com) =P
I used Kaspersky AV (http://www.kaspersky.com) for the longest time, but my trial ran out. hehe

I work for a Software Security company. We developed our own Security solution that does not require updates such as those of the Traditional AV software. It's a complete solution, protecting from the out side as well as the "inside threat" that organizations face today.

Windows Systems only.
If you were to click on "Products" it says:
* Shadow is an independent security monitor, meaning that it functions outside of—and therefore is not dependent on—the Microsoft operating system, freeing it from reliance on the drivers, policies, and operational elements of the Microsoft O/S that inherently compromise traditional security solutions.
The site is still underconstruction as well.
