He means he gets laid off each winter, and lives off the government for those months.

Everyone at Wal-Mart is a pawn in their big Corporate game! Wal-Mart employees all have life insurance policies on them and most don't know it. Wal-Mart puts the policies on them and even when they quit they keep the policy running, so when the person dies they get the money. And you thought Wal-Mart hired elderly people to give them something to do.

^Very true. As a business student, I do not agree with the practices of wal-mart and will not shop there. There was a documentary on CNN the other night giving an inside look at the corporation.

LOL! Don't people realize today that our government and corporations are hand in hand? "You, the government, keep the consumer consuming and we, the corporations, will give you kick backs. You scratch my back I will scratch yours." Wal-Mart is a huge corporation. Corporations are the new religions...and their god is...MONEY!

I did pretty much everything you can do, at least for a while. I spent the last 5 years in TLE though.

Largest employeer in the US: 1.8 million.

Lots of companies are carrying the life insurance on their employees. Depending on who you are, and what you do, the policy could be in the millions. For instance, DOW chemical may have 8 flavor scientists, and there may only be 50 in the world that do what they do. Those guys have multimillion dollar policies with the DOW being the beneficiary. It covers the cost of bringing in someone new and loads of incidentals w/o killing the bottom line.

My brother (who is a little slow) has been working there for like 10 years, they even let him transfer from CA to GA. I couldn't tell you which department he works at, but I wonder if he knows he has insurance. I should tell him and see what he thinks.
