i know modchipping is wrong, but i need some help!!! : READ! :
I dont have any games, im only using the xbox to watch movies. =

i need the xbox because its almost the only thing wich is play mkv and ogg (anime) and for all the movies i need subtitles, and most of the divx playes cant handle the hungarian subtitles.. so the only way to watch movies, animes is to get an xbox!!!

btw i had an xbox but its broken now.. i bought an other one but this one is bad too.. so if anyone know how to fix the xbox pls let me know!!! or u know how the install modchips, pls... PM ME!!!!!

and pls moderators!!! dont delete the topic... THIS TOPIC IS NOT ABOUT THE ILLEGAL GAMES... i just want to watch my movies.

yeah... its a long story i tried to swap my HDD... then my motherboard.. then my modchip.. blablahblah.. i will write up everything tommorrow

 

what modchip?

install modchip first then modify hd with dashboard (xbmc) and your good to go. ftp all files to hd

if not u can always softmod but I've never tried it. I found it easy just to use xecuter 2.6 non-solder for my old xbox.

now I use a modded 360

 

modded xbox360... i CANT watch divx and ogg, mkv with modded xbox360... (am i right?)


so.. here is the story.

i had an xbox with duoX 2 chip. SlayerEvoX... xbmc.. on the HDD...

if i switched it on with the disc tray then the xbox started without the slayerevox... if i just started with the ON /OFF button.. then the BLUE X logo came on.. everything was perfect.. then after 2 year or something the ON /OFF button died. so the only way was to start the modded xbox is: open the disc tray.. green X logo came on.. then pull out the AC cord from the back.. and plug it back in.. then the blue X logo showed up.. it was good for a few months, then i tried the same thing but always the green logo came up... nothing to do.. i checked the chip.. the soldering.. i think everything was perfect....

so we bought an other (refurbished) xbox... first i tried to use the new shell... old mobo with chip.. new drive and old Hdd... but it wasnt good.. the tray opened by itself and red circle was blinking... ok... i tried with the new HDD.. same thing.. then i installed the chip on the new mobo.. but the same thing.. so i ripped off the chip from the new xbox.. then i tried to put everything back together.. new shell.. new mobo. new hdd and new drive.. no red circle.. but the tray opens and the SET TIME screen came up...

so now what??? just order an other chip??? solderless modchips are good???? wich one i should buy???

the only thing why i need it is: MOVIES.. so i dont care if it doesnt play imported games or whatever...

did u ever try reflashing your mod chip? maybe the modchip went bad? do the LED's on the modchip light up correctly saying its operating just fine? Are the switches on the modchip running on modded firmware or disabled?

 

i dont even know where is the led on the modchip.. im gonna put the together the two xbox without chip... if they dont work without modhip.. then i fckd up the motherboards with the soldering

 

usually there is LED's on the modchip that light up if the modchip is working correctly (d0 point)

and might also have LED's if its enabled (modded firmware running or stock firmware)

 

yeah.. about the d0... i have to solder that to the motherboard or just try to stick it somehow.. because.. it was PAIN IN THE A$$ to solder that to that place ( the solder didnt stick there..) i asked my friend he use to fix laptops and i asked him about the little point on the motherboard ( he had an opened up laptop front of him, so i pointed on that little hole on the mobo) and he said the solder wont stick there... and i could burn out the mobo if i try it a lot ( and i did try it a lot)

so now what?
btw im gonna try to put it together without the chip.. if the cboc wont work.. then i coocked the mobo with the soldering gun

 

why is modding wrong?

oh and btw i bought a refurbished xbox... xecuter 2.6 lite and a xapt3r solderless adapter... it was hard to get it run but now i say i could repeat the whole thing very EZ..... so if someone needs help with this let me know!

XBMC ( i used my old HDD) works now.. so i can watch movies!! YEAH!
