thats what happens when you only have 1 good starting pitcher. You need at least 2 big guns to get through the post season.

Thanks Brian Cashman, maybe instead of signing more offense, [aka AROD], we should be trying to sign some good pitching.

Good pitching ALWAYS dominates good hitting. period.

randy is not a good pitcher. his era was 5.00, can you consider that good?

There were no quality starts in the playoffs by any of the Yankee starters, simple as that.

ok think about what you just said... OVERALL CAREER
he is no longer a threat, he is 43 years old, and has herniated disks in his back, he is never going to be the same flamethrower he used to be. A 5.00 era is not something to be intimidated by.

However, Ching-Ming ****'s 3.60 ERA is something to be intimidated by. He throws a 96mph sinker! He is the future of the Yankees, and a worthwhile investment. Not aging players that are getting hurt and unable to live up to postseason levels.

For the love of grilled cheese shut up with the "$200 million team" crap. I hear it all the time and it's so annoying. The reason the yankees can spend that much money is because they make an asston of cash on tickets and such. If they didn't have the cash coming in, they wouldn't have the big paychecks.

Have people show up to every Mets game and they can start rolling out the bills. Same with the other teams. The problem is, most people don't care to go and see a game, they would rather stay home and watch it on TV.

I'll make a 4 hour commute to Yankee stadium at least once a year to give them my money and there is nothing like it. Hell, I even helped out the A's this year and went to a game while on vacation.

Now that the last 2 parts had nothing to do with this topic, I'll say it all again. Fill the seats up, then you can fill the dugout with high priced "talent".

Talent was in quotes because A-Rod was mentioned, and as everyone has seen his "talent" has started to look more like luck. It's a shame to see last years MVP play the way he did this year.

Little story. At work, we have a Boston fan, and he has this big Boston Red Sox flag hanging above his desk. We have a Reds fan, and he has this big reds poster above his desk. We have a Braves fan, and she has a big Braves poster above her desk. I'm a Yankees fan. Above my desk is a little ClipArt thing I made, with the number 6 on the back of a rooster... and it ____es them all off, because when you have 26 rings, you've got one on each finger, both thumbs, all your toes... the last 6 have to go somewhere.

The Yanks will be fine. God bless George for his patience, his desire, and his loot.

Watch Sportscenter... "The Yankees announced today that Torre will be back. Derek Jeter speaks up for his teammates. A-Rod breaks down and admits he's ___. Oh yea... and 2 teams, uh, Detroit and somewhere in California... they play this week sometime. It's on TV I think, but Mariano Rivera speaks up for Torre..."

And puh-lease. Randy Johnson pitched in the AL West and the NL West. Now he's coming to the AL East? He's overmatched from the get go. That's like graduating kindergarten and getting put in college.

And they won the final "tournament" that all teams had the chance to play in right? Sounds legit to me. I don't care how many people/teams you have to play to make it elgit by your standards, but I just thought your statement was kinda dumb.
