P.S. Not a fan of Bush either... Just sick of hearing some...SOME of the over the top left blame stuff on the government that isnt warranted. Its a world problem that needs to be solved by world leaders...Not one country.

In economic terms, it is called Supply and Demand. It really is nothing more than that. China has come from nowhere to pass Japan as the number No. 2 oil consumer in the world. China and India -- between them home to eight times the U.S. population -- are industrializing and gobbling huge amounts of energy.
American demand is up because we've lived in a fool's paradise since the mid-1980s. Until then, beginning with the oil shocks in 1973, Americans had changed appliances and cars and habits and achieved astonishing energy conservation. Energy use per dollar of gross domestic product was cut by 30 percent in little over a decade. Oil prices collapsed to about $10 a barrel.

you know it's bad when Texas tC owners start making making threads about being over $40. LOL, but really b/c TX is the cheapest place to buy it. and it's only going to increase b/c of the approach of summer.
no fair throwing san diego prices into it
, only place that's prob. higher in the 48 states is san fran and that area. but seriously, daygo catches a big ripoff.

for me it's not even that i can't afford it (though i know some can't) it's about why. it's pure greed. like, why does gas cost so much more/less if i drive 2 more blocks.

Getting people to walk more instead of driving their cars 5 blocks for a BigMac, reducing our demand (and then costs) for oil.......
All stories have two-sides, so dont just look at the increased food costs due to transporting/shipping foods and/or goods. Take a gander on the bigger picture.

Thats how I "offset" some of the increased cost.
Anyway, even SD is getting a deal on petrol compared to most of the world.

i love how people keep saying we should be glad we don't pay as much as europe and so on, OUR DOLLAR ALSO ISN'T AS STRONG. I'm not saying the europeans should pay more, but it doesn't mean we should be happy that we're paying so much. gas is ridiculous, 3.75 is the price that i've seen recently. i remember when 2.75 was expensive (not long ago) and or economy hasn't gotten worse, so you're danggone right people are going to be upset over gas going up and up. where's the end?? glad i'm military for this whole deal (guaranteed job), the richer are getting richer; and the poorer are getting poorer. period. granted you can say "well you should save and blah, blah. but in the end it's hard to save when you don't make much as is and everything around you is going up in price (college, gas, food, etc.)
i've seen a few pictures in cali where it's just about to hit $5 a gallon. its just going to keep going up and up and up....deal with it. i used to go that extra half mile or mile to see if i could save 5 or 10 cents a gallon at another station, but nowdays its just too expensive to care anymore.

Yes, gas is getting more expensive.
Yes, people don't want to pay that much.
But how many of you people that are complaining are willing to sell your car and ride a bus or a bike?
