i have the UV and now a CPL, ND is next then.

 

i want a gradient ND.

 

yeah so good filters are hoya, tiffen and BW? i just got a pricey quantaray but havent tried it yet and my old 55mm bower non circular.. im trying to get a new one for my 10-20mm

 

i use Tiffen or BW. Even go maybe a HOYA. B&W is prolly the most popular.

 

my UV is a tiffen, so ill buy theirs CPL if i dont like this one.

but meh, a uv filter is a uv filter, I have B+W tiffen canon and sunpak filters.

I'd say my tiffen is the most no nonsense filter I have. Less junk on the glass, I suppose the junk will help prevent flare, but I like flare.

when I compared lenses the Sunpak one I had (made in japan, not the the one made in china) was sharper than my B+W MRC filter. Biut I didnt test flare resistance, just sharpness.

I hate polarizers. Id rather not use it, I lose too much light with them.

 

i have 2 hoya UV filters on my lense aswell as one hoya CP for my kit lense.

yeah its makes it dark but works great on broad daylight especially shooting landscapes

why do you feel a need for an nd filter?

just wondering.. plan on shooting a silk water shot with shallow depth of field?

i live by Lake Norman, which is a pretty nice water view. I always though you got better water shots with a ND, but i guess they are more for waterfalls and what not?

 

Saw this pic and thought it was teh awesome.

 

I want a gradient ND for landscapes and car shoots. That way I can stop down the sky during and correctly expose the landscape.

 

Hmmm I should probably get a ND filter for this weekend.
